Konsumen:

Tiazid menurunkan tingkat asam urat ekskresi. Hiperurisemia sering terjadi tetapi biasanya asimtomatik dan jarang menyebabkan klinis asam urat kecuali pada pasien dengan riwayat gout atau gagal ginjal kronis. Terapi dengan diuretik thiazide harus diberikan hati-hati pada pasien tersebut.
