Konsumen:

Acyclovir, terutama bila diberikan secara intravena dalam dosis yang lebih tinggi, kadang-kadang dapat menghasilkan neurotoksisitas ditandai dengan kelesuan, obtundation, tremor, kebingungan, halusinasi, agitasi, kejang, atau koma. Terapi dengan asiklovir harus diberikan hati-hati pada orang tua dan pada pasien dengan mendasari kelainan neurologis, penyakit ginjal atau penyakit hati, atau kelainan elektrolit atau hipoksia.
