Aminoglikosida dapat menyebabkan saraf kranial kedelapan kerusakan, sehingga vestibular dan/atau toksisitas auditori. Gejala-gejala seperti pusing, nistagmus, vertigo, ataksia, tinnitus, dan berbagai derajat gangguan pendengaran. Kehilangan pendengaran permanen dapat terjadi, termasuk, jarang, total atau parsial ireversibel bilateral tuli setelah obat telah dihentikan.
